Sinking Into The Abyss
We all have a God-shaped hole custom-built inside us, by God Himself, as a reminder of where we came from and to where we need to return.
Most people don't understand the origin or purpose of this hole, only knowing that living with it, is very uncomfortable, and like all vacuums, it has to be filled with something.
Drugs, alcohol, sex, food, sleeping, pornography, binge watching TV, shopping, exercise, nothing works, because only God can fill it.
The more we try to fill it with anything other than God, the wider and deeper it gets and the deeper into the abyss we sink.
It is only at our breaking point that we are able to humble ourselves, or be humbled, and in this breaking down, the veil is lifted and we are finally able to see.
God Loves Us
God loves us, He wants us to be close to Him, He wants a relationship with us.
He created our inmost being; He knit us together in our mother's womb. (Psalm 139:13)
Before He formed us in the womb He knew us, before we were born He set us apart. (Jeremiah 1:5)
He has plans for us, plans to prosper us and not to harm us, plans to give us hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11)
There is only so far we can go before God puts the brakes on and He disciplines the one He loves, and He chastens everyone He accepts as His son (or daughter). (Hebrews 12:6)
God's Purpose For Us
Whilst many of us are flailing around in the dark, or worse, know what our purpose is but refuse to step in, we can't be surprised when nothing works.
God created us for His purpose, so if we are doing anything other than that, we are going against the grain, which is akin to pushing a boulder uphill.
Oftentimes, God's purpose for us is so big that we can't even conceive of how we would ever be able to make a success of the mandate.
But this is because we haven't grasped the point that it's God's power that flows through us, not ours, and it's Him that brings the opportunities, people and resources, not us.
He raises us up for His purpose, that He might show us His power and that His name might be proclaimed in all the earth. (Exodus 9:16)
Totally Dependent on God
We are totally dependent on God for our blessings, He is the source of everything and without Him, in our own power and might, we can do nothing. (Zechariah 4:6)
This is something that most people can't seem to get their head around, believing instead that they themselves are the source of creation.
As God breaks down all strongholds, I am acutely aware that I have no power and that everything I am graced with comes from God.
I know this because nothing I used to be able to do works, I cannot move anything forward without God's blessing and everything grinds to a halt when God is not present.
As my ego (an acronym for edging God out) is smashed to smithereens, I am humbled at the grace, mercy and blessings that are bestowed upon me when I come to Him in perfect love.
Operating In The Anointing
When God is in it, everything changes, and we can't carry out His will for us without him.
When we put God first, we are no longer operating in our own limited power and might, but in a supernatural anointing and appointing that comes from our positioning in the LORD.
This is a game changer and our ultimate purpose is to become like Jesus - to heal, to hold and to harness the power of God through us.
To do this, we have to cast aside everything we thought we knew and surrender ourselves completely to the will of God, renewing our mind, refreshing our soul and reclaiming our birthright.
For those God foreknew He also predestined to be comformed to the image of His Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. (Romans 8:29)
Letting Go & Letting God
This is a difficult concept to explain and one that can only be experienced.
When we put God first and give Him room to move, in His way and His time, mountains move, exactly as He tells us, nothing will be impossible for us. (Matthew 17:20)
Logically, this makes total sense, if God has a plan for us, and He wants us to fulfil a particular purpose, then of course He will set in place whatever is necessary to facilitate that.
And the things that God has prepared for those who love him are what no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived. (1 Corinthians 2:9)
Let us therefore step in with boldness to the bright future that God has laid out for us!
A Full & Fulfilled Heart
When we decide to accept and access God's will for us, we are changed from the inside out.
We are set free of everything that held us back and everything that kept us captive.
Only God has the power to release us from the chains that bound us, but we have to make the decision to lay everything at His feet and let Him lead us to green pastures.
And from this place, we are able to reach a place of deep fulfilment, as our life takes on a new purpose and our cup is filled to overflowing.
The hole in our heart is closed, we are complete and are able to experience a profound reconnection, resonance and restoration with God.
No Substitute
Nothing but God can fill the God-shaped hole that we carry, it is not possible to have any measure of success without God and a house built on sand will only get washed away.
We need to build our house on rock, on God the Rock, with God as the cornerstone, for a solid foundation on which to stand.
Without God, we are nothing, we need Him for the very air that we breathe, once we realise that, we can begin the journey to wholeness.
There is no substitute for a life well lived, with God at the heart and soul of everything we do, as the wind beneath our wings and the altar at which we worship and lay everything down.
God is the answer to everything, we must learn to let Him lead and humble ourselves to follow, the result of which will be miracles and blessings beyond our wildest imaginations.
